Little things get you down easily, and your mind has a hard time letting go of worries so you can just…relax

There are moments or even days when you feel relatively happy, but then something unexpected or challenging happens, and you’re right back to square one.

Maybe you’ve tried various self-help books or techniques, and sometimes you do find a little relief. Perhaps you’ve tried various forms of meditation, yoga, or positive affirmations. But the minute you let go of your routine, that’s it. You’re feeling blue again…or just blah.

It all takes so much…effort.

Is it you? Are you just naturally wired to be sadder than the rest?

Are You Naturally Wired To Be Sadder Than The Rest?

I have a little secret to share:

I work hard at being happy.

I know, I know: I’m the happiness expert. I’ve spent decades researching what makes people have it, and I am a New York Times bestselling author on books about…happiness. You would think happiness comes naturally for me. But it doesn’t—not by a long shot.

I like to joke that I was born unhappy. Now, we know that babies usually come into this world happy to just sleep and eat. I’m sure I was that way, too, but when I look back on my childhood and early adulthood, I remember being depressed.

Back in my high-school days, I would have given myself a D+ in happiness. And then I became a corporate executive who was really successful on the outside yet completely miserable.

I’m actually grateful for that, because it led me to do what I do today. Always a seeker, I made it my mission to find out how I could stop being so darn unhappy.

What the Happiest People On Earth Know (And Do)

If you want to know how to paint, you don’t take lessons from an accountant.

So when I went on my search to learn the secrets of being happy, I went right to the source and interviewed the happiest people alive.

What I learned was both humbling and hugely helpful.

First of all, I learned that I wasn’t all that special. All along, I thought there was something about me that made me different—that I was singled out to be unhappy.

Many of the happy people I talked to made very specific efforts to be happy—in other words, they weren’t born any happier than you or me. Instead, they had cultivated certain happiness habits they practiced every day.

Second, these people weren’t particularly lucky—meaning they were not immune to having rotten things happen to them. But the happiness habits they practiced did make them more resilient to whatever went down. They were able to bounce back up way more quickly.

Result: the happy people trained themselves to cultivate a certain baseline of happiness—no matter what was happening on the outside.

But Why Should I Have To Work At Being Happier?

You don’t have to make an effort if you don’t want results!

If you want results in life, you have to take action. This is what the game of life is about. If you want to be a tennis player, you practice the habits of a good tennis player. If you want to be a good pianist, you practice the habits of a good pianist. If you want to be successful, you practice the habits of successful people.

And if you want to be happy, you practice the habits of happy people.

These are habits anyone can learn and apply their own life, to raise their level of happiness.

Most of these habits are simple to do and take no time at all. Some are so intuitive that they could be seamlessly incorporated into the day; you could practice these habits while you’re driving your car to work, or waiting in line at the grocery store, or eating lunch.

And some are even fun enough to do with kids, so that while you’re elevating your happiness, you’re helping them elevate theirs!

And here’s the truly excellent news:

Once you make these practices routine, they become more of your natural state. Meaning you don’t have to “work” at it at all!

Now, thanks to my happiness practices, I give myself an A to an A- in happiness. I’m always still a work in progress.

It’s not that life doesn’t get challenging, it’s that I have these practices that really work.

Give Me 30 Days, And I’ll Give You A Complete Toolkit For A Happier Life

Having a “toolbox” of happiness habits means you never have to wait for external circumstances to change in order for you to feel good.

You don’t have to become richer, or healthier, or more financially secure.

You don’t have to be in a great relationship now, or have a fantastic job with a good salary.

You can start NOW, exactly in the life circumstances you have, no matter what those are.

With this toolbox, you know that happiness is completely under your control, which is incredibly empowering and liberating.

Once I learned the specific habits of the happiest people—and I actually applied them—the happiness ensued felt so good that it only prompted me to continue the practices.

Today, I do consider myself one of the happiest people alive.

I want the same for you, which is why I created 30 Days to a Happier Life—a video program where I’ll teach you the very best of what I know.

Throughout your 30 days with me in the program, you’ll learn many different techniques, meditations, and practices that will get you happier.

Unlike other self-help programs on happiness, this one is holistic, meaning it transforms ALL aspects of your being. It doesn’t just focus on one or two areas, it helps you with all 7 major areas: your perspective, your thoughts, your feelings, your body, your soul, your purpose, and your relationships.

Do this program in as little as 10 minutes a day, and by the end of the month, you’ll notice a huge difference in your outlook, your mood, and your well-being:

Come On, Get Happy

Practicing happiness habits is not only totally worth it, it’s the best thing you can do for yourself. It’s also highly contagious!

With love and happiness,
